The aim of numerous works of author is the creation of simplified thermodynamic model the origin of life, its evolution and the aging of living beings. During the creation of this model the author has used a variety of approximation and postulates. These approximations and postulates were justified from the standpoint of dynamic quasi-equilibrium hierarchical thermodynamics, which relies on the laws of classical thermodynamics of complex systems and the principle of substance stability. In this paper the author presented the some known evidences of action of the principle of substance stability in chemical and biological systems. The author presented also a new evidence for reaffirmation of this principle when changing the elemental composition of living organisms in the course of biological evolution. There is the local thermodynamic optimization of structures of all hierarchical levels. The variations of habitat and the searches of optimal thermodynamic structures in nature can be comprehended from the perspective of the enlarged understanding of “the variation and the selection” of Ch. Darwin.
